PC Configuration
To begin with, you need to download and install a file compression utility. I use WinZip:
WinZip Setup Instructions
1. Go to the WinZip Web Site, and click on the 'Download WinZip v8.1 Evaluation Version'.
2. Double click the WinZip81.EXE file, then click on the Setup button.
3. Accept the Default Installation folder (C:\Program Files\WinZip\). Click OK.
...The Application will be installed on to your PC.
4. The Setup Wizard screen will appear. Click Next, followed by Yes (Licence Agreement), then Next
...again. Select WinZip Classic. Click on Next.
5. Select Custom Setup (Advanced Users), followed by Next. Ensure ALL options are ticked on the
...Explore Configuration' Screen. Click Next, followed by Next again. Ensure both options are ticked
...on the 'Other Options' Screen. Click Next, then click Finish.
6. WinZip will automatically load. Close WinZip tip of the day.
You now have the utility to unzip the games files from this site.
Now you need to download, install and configure the ZX Spectrum Emulator. My recommendation is to use the ZX32 Emulator for Windows 9.x by Vaggelis Kappartzianis.

Now your PC is configured correctly. You can now download and use the games on this site.
Games
It's easy to download and load a game from this web site. Just select a game to download, unzip the contents to a designated folder, run the emulator, click on the ZX Menu/Open, manipulate the folders to where the unzipped contents are stored, highlight the *.TAP, *.SNA or *.Z80 file and click on the Open button.
From the Emulators Options Menu, there are a variety of settings that can be altered. Games are a variety of 48k and 128k based. The majority of them will run on the +2A emulation. However, a few will only run on the 48k setting. To alter the default model, select the hardware tab and make the necessary change. Reset the emulator for the change to take effect.
The games on this site are listed in alphabetical order. Each *.ZIP file contains 3 files: The game itself, in either *.Tap, *.Sna or *.Z80 format; The games instructions (Yes - You just might need to read them!); and a scan of the original inlay card.
Why ? Well, I've always found the instructions to be helpful when 'getting to grips' with a game I have downloaded. It does my head in when game instructions are not present.
The front covers of original ZX Spectrum games were, I've always thought, artistically brilliant. For me, as a brat, the inlay always had an influence on whether I bought the game or not.
All three files grouped together in one download is very hard to come by. In fact, am I the only one on this planet to do so ?
Unfortunately, due to Copyright laws, I was unable to put the following games I own onto this web site: Rockstar Ate My Hamster; International Rugby Simulator; Pro Boxing and 4 Soccer Simulators. This is because CodeMasters - the owners of the Copyright to these games, have formally denied the distribution of their games (not to me personally, but they would if I asked!).
I am also unable to 'publish' Football Manager 2 Expansion Kit (is there any point ?); Project Stealth Fighter; Gazzas Super Soccer, Mazeball and European 5 a Side. This is because my tapes will not load on to my PC correctly, and I can't find a working copy of these games on the Internet anywhere. If you know where any of these 'tapes' are, please e-mail me (bottom of page) to let me know. It would please me no end.
